Kavya has been involved with public service since high school and was able to dedicate herself to it deeply during the pandemic. She participated in volunteer tutoring for at-risk youth in East Palo Alto, contact tracing and case investigation for marginalized families in the bay area, climate peer education for youth in the Puget Sound Region, served as chair of Policy and Education at Stanford Housing Justice, and worked on a research project on the proximity of restoration sites to marginalized communities.
