Ali is a Junior in Earth Systems who has a storied history of Public Service. Most recently she has worked in Nicaragua with an environmental NGO, blueEnergy. blueEnergy delivers energy, water, and sanitation to some of the world’s most isolated and marginalized communities, providing a foundation for health, education, and economic opportunity within the context of a changing climate. As an intern with blueEnergy Ali worked on projects addressing clean water and sanitation issues, focusing upon implementation of greywater filtration systems. This project aimed to increase quality of life for many residents of Bluefields, Nicaragua who lacked access to clean water and suffered because of it. Ali also hopes to help lead an International Service Trip to Hong Kong in which students learn about environmental and urbanization issues. In her career, Ali hopes to continue serving others and contributing to a global-scale change for the better.
